The first Opal Divines Restaurant opened its doors at 700 west 6th street in downtown Austin Texas March of 2000. With a history that go's back more than a 150 years, the story is the pilgrims who once lived in the house, now restaurant had to fight off indians that lived on the other side of Shoal Creek which is just a couple of miles west of Freehouse.

Opal Divines Freehouse boast huge shady oak trees, two levels of nature filled, water mister and fan cooled decks. Opals also provides free wireless internet in a very relaxed casual atmosphere. Opal Divines Freehouse has become a very popular hot spot for The University Of Texas students along with our loyal and diverse crowd of patrons and friends alike. So close to downtown, Freehouse has also become quite popular among business professionals to come wind down after a day at the office. Come relax and enjoy the freedom to be unique.

The second Opal Divines Restaurant & Bar located at Penn Field in South Austin opened its doors at 3602 South Congress Avenue in May of 2005. It is located just one block south of St. Edwards University and one block north of Ben White Blvd also known as Hwy 71. We are also just five minutes south of downtown.

Having the largest music stage and deck of the three locations, Penn Field has been the place in South Austin to witness some fantastic sunsets and great music events. The Penn Field deck is water mister cooled and along with the many umbrellas and strategically placed see thru sun tarps, it is the perfect setting for a relaxed casual Austin Texas happy hour sunset. We also have free wi-fi if you would like to bring along the laptop and surf the mighty internet. Gather up your friends and come enjoy the freedom to be yourself. We welcome you with open arms.

The third and newest Opal Divines Restaurant location in North Austin opened its doors in December of 2006. Opals marina is located in the same shopping center at the corner of Parmer Lane and Mopac with stores such as Fry's Electronics, Big Lots, Half Price Books and Records and many others. We are also next door to txtag if you are picking up your toll tags. Stop in and try out our new american food menu or enjoy a cold refreshing drink on our umbrella filled deck along with the sounds of sirius radio flowing in the breeze.
